Thanks to the 2018 Farm Bill, hemp plants that contain less than 0.3% THC are federally legal to grow, cultivate, harvest, process and trade. Kicking Mule Hemp uses Farm Bill compliant premium Oregon and Washington hemp oils to manufacture our products that are laboratory tested for contaminants and purity so that you may trust but verify that your Kicking Mule Hemp product is “as advertised” and safe.
Kicking Mule Hemp uses only hemp sourced components that are Federally compliant and certified free of contaminants and components that are “Certified Organic” if available. The Hemp sourced cannabinoid components including CBD are received in distillate or isolate form with certified laboratory certificates of analysis (COA) for each lot used to ensure our products are free from contaminants and we can prove it. The laboratory standards are the same as applied to the Washington State legal cannabis industry, which is professional grade and stringent, though Hemp sourced cannabinoids are not controlled by Washington or Federal governments.
The refined components are made from crude hemp oil extracted from hemp plants via mechanical press or solvents or a combination of the methods. Crude oil is essentially the hemp plant resin (with varying chemical compositions) separated from the plant. The product is called crude and is the base oil from which the more highly refined cannabinoid components are made. The crude oil must be free of contaminants to include Solvents, Pesticides, Heavy Metals and Biotoxins (mold). Some Kicking Mule topical products are made with crude oil as a component because of it’s dark and hempy goodness, perfect for the chapped hands and feet.
Hemp sourced CBD refined components are used by Kicking Mule in three main forms; Broad Spectrum Distillate, Full Spectrum Distillate and Isolates. Each of these components is accepted for Kicking Mule use only with full panel certified laboratory testing that proves each lot of components contaminant free by certified laboratory analysis with known quantities of cannabinoids detailed in a report retained in the Kicking Mule library.
Most of the Kicking Mule Tincture products that contain THC are blended with Broad Spectrum Distillate, Full Spectrum Distillate and Isolates for the purpose of obtaining high purity CBD Oils /Tinctures without exceeding our self imposed 0.2% EU standard THC limit. All Kicking Mule Tincture products that do not contain THC are blended with Broad Spectrum CBD Distillate (THC Free) and CBD Isolate.
CBD (cannabidiol) Broad Spectrum Distillate - This is a CBD concentrate made from crude oil in a distilling process. The material has a broad spectrum of cannabinoids that excludes THC, but may include CBN & CBG. This component is THC free. The format is usually solid or viscous honey-like at room temperature, brown / green in color and may smell a little like weed, with significantly less hemp taste than Full Spectrum Distillate. The component is oil soluble. Broad Spectrum Distillate is more expensive to produce than Full Spectrum Distillates because of the extra processes required to exclude THC from the mixture.
CBD (cannabidiol) Full Spectrum Distillate - This is a CBD concentrate made from crude oil in a distilling process. The material has the full spectrum of cannabinoids that include THC, CBN & CBG. The format is usually solid at room temperature, dark brown / green in color and smells and tastes like weed. The component is oil soluble. This component is more expensive to use than CBD isolate.
CBD (cannabidiol) Isolate - This is CBD in its purest form, with concentrations that exceed 99%. The format appears to be similar in visual presentation to lumpy powdered sugar. The product is tasteless, odorless and oil soluble.
