What it is: Broad Spectrum CBD Distillate is a highly concentrated, usually waxy substance that is made by mechanically breaking down US grown hemp (not from medical or recreational cannabis, which are different plant species) and then chemically extracting the target compounds found within the hemp plant , such as CBD and CBG. "Broad Spectrum" distillate is a more targeted extraction when compared to Full Spectrum CBD and leaves out some compounds, such as THC. These extractions are usually so efficient at keeping THC out of the final product that the levels of THC are "Non-Detectable" (ND) to analytical laboratory equipment.

Why we use it: Broad Spectrum CBD Distillate is used in most CBD products to provide a base level of CBD and other helpful compounds.

Where we use it: Salve, Tincture

What it is: CBD Isolate is a very highly concentrated, usually powdery white substance that is made by an additional chemical extraction process after distillation to target only specific compounds found within the hemp plant, specifically CBD in this case. Isolate is a very restrictive extraction when compared to both Broad and Full Spectrum CBD Distillates, and it leaves out all other compounds from the hemp plant, such as THC. These extractions are so efficient at keeping THC out of the final product that the levels of THC are "Non-Detectable" (ND) to analytical laboratory equipment.

Why we use it: CBD Isolate is used when the CBD content of our product is desired at a very high level and especially when solubility of CBD in the product is near or at its maximum.
